Community Leader in Residence
The Community Leader in Residence program brings to campus community leaders from the greater Charlotte area and across the U.S. who are thought and practice leaders in issues impacting our communities.
Leaders may offer lectures or teach-ins, meet individually with students and student groups, collaborate with community organizations to lead public presentations or community conversations, create public art or literature, and ultimately help to transcend boundaries between classroom and community.
This year, given our focus on Engaging in Democracy, will be on campus in both the fall and the spring to help us explore 鈥淧illars of a Flourishing Community鈥 at 皇家华人. In the fall, she will offer a talk entitled 鈥&苍产蝉辫;We Need To Talk: Repairing Our Social Fabric One Creative Conversation At a Time鈥, facilitate dinner discussions with staff and faculty about pillars of a flourishing community, and host a series of small discussions with student leaders. These talks will then serve as springboard for projects that will carry into the spring semester.
