Data CATS assists students, faculty, staff, and community members with data analytics work.
Alp Niksarli
Alp has experience with full stack web development and data mining using frameworks like Scrapy, Beautiful Soup, and Selenium. He also has experience analyzing data with Pandas dataframes or Matplotlib visuals, as well as some background in machine learning using TensorFlow and Keras APIs. He knows programming languages such as C++, Java and Javascript.
Arvin Zhang
Arvin is an Economics major with a background in data science. He has completed coursework such as ECO105 (now ECO204), ECO205, and CSC121. He is proficient in Python, R and Excel.
DuBose Tuller
DuBose is a Senior Computer Science and Math double major who specializes in machine learning. He is proficient in data analysis in Python (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, keras, pytorch), and is also familiar with several other languages, including R, Mathematica, Java, C, and SQL.
Fangyi Li
Fangyi is a Psychology student with backgrounds in Data Science. Having completed PSY 200 and 300, she is familiar with social science statistics. Fangyi also took CSC 121 and CSC 250. While being most proficient in R, She has used Python, Java, and Excel as well. Fangyi understands the challenges in STEM and would like to support students in need.
Jack Cook
Jack is a Senior Economics and Computer Science double major, with knowledge of Python, Excel, Stata, and R, among other programming languages. In addition to general knowledge of data analysis, he has experience with forecasting methods using time series data.
Jose David Sandoval
Jose is an Economics major and math minor. Thanks to Econ 204, 205, CSC 121, and Econ 336, he has experience in statistics and data analysis. He also knows Python, R, Excel, and, soon, Stata.
Kerem Atas
Kerem is a third-year Computer Science and Data Science student, interested in the interdisciplinary applications of data science tools and methods. He has experience in data visualization and web development, along with familiarity in database systems and statistics. He is proficient in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
Patrick Leary
Patrick is a senior computer science major with a data science minor. He is proficient in Python and has some experience in other languages, including R, SQL, JavaScript, Java and C#. He also has basic stats knowledge and excel skills from ECO 204.
Taylor Hopkin
Taylor is a senior doing a double major in Economics and Computer Science. He is proficient in Python, Wolfram, R, Java, C, JavaScript, HTML, and Excel. Taylor recently did a summer in Investment Banking where a large portion of his workload involved data manipulation and cleaning in various languages. He is excited to help with DataCats!
