Background
I am a native of Taiwan, a vibrant island in East Asia celebrated for its democracy, rich culture, and warm hospitality. Home to 23 million people, Taiwan has been ranked the world's top destination for expatriates for three consecutive years (Internations.org, 2021).
My academic journey began at National Taiwan Normal University, where I earned a Master's Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. Since 2008, I have been dedicated to Chinese language education, teaching at various esteemed institutions. Before joining »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË's Chinese Studies Department in August 2014, I had the opportunity to serve as a visiting scholar at Middlebury College's Chinese Summer Language School (2012) and the College of the Holy Cross (2012-2013). I also instructed at the Princeton in Beijing program in 2014 and 2015.
My passion for language education extends beyond the classroom. I have extensive experience in Apprentice Teacher (AT) training and regularly contribute to the field through presentations at state and national language conferences. These include the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA), Foreign Language Association of North Carolina (FLANC), and Chinese Language Teacher Association of North Carolina (CLTA-NC), where I currently serve as vice president.
My research interests are diverse and evolving. My master's work focused on Chinese grammar and its pedagogical applications. Currently, as I pursue my doctorate, I am exploring the intersection of experiential learning and artificial intelligence in language education.
