Background

I am an Associate Professor in the Public Health Department at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË. I received my B.S. in psychology from »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË in 2005 and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Florida in 2010. I completed my predoctoral internship at the Medical College of Georgia/Charlie Norwood VA Hospital (2009-10) and my clinical postdoctoral fellowship at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital (2010-11). Subsequently, I served as a staff psychologist at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. I was fortunate to return to »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË as a faculty member in fall 2012.

My specialty area is clinical health/medical psychology with a focus on resiliency, stress and health. In addition to teaching and conducting research, I'm a licensed psychologist in North Carolina and serve as a part-time clinician in the community. I'm trained in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviews, neuropsychological assessments and health behavior assessments. My intervention experiences include primarily cognitive-behavioral therapy, health behavior interventions, mindfulness techniques and positive psychology techniques.
