Background
I am a biochemist who teaches general chemistry, beginning and advanced biochemistry, and biophysical chemistry. I studied at The Ohio State University and Texas A&M University, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University.
My research interests include protein structure and stability, thermodynamic and kinetic analysis of protein conformational changes, and protein conformational diseases.
Since arriving at 皇家华人, I have teamed with many students to engage in laboratory research, and am actively seeking further research experiences with students as well as reaching out externally for collaborations and funding. I have published articles in such journals as Biochemistry, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Biophysical Journal, Journal of Molecular Biology, Nature Structural Biology, and Protein Science, and I regularly peer review articles for biochemical journals and grant proposals for funding organizations like the National Science Foundation.
Off campus I enjoy reading, foreign and independent movies, board and card games, chess, tennis, golf, hiking, and trips to the mountains or the beach.
