Background

I am an ordained Dharma and meditation teacher in a Korean heritage Seon (Zen) Buddhist lineage. My ordination master is the Ven. Haju Sunim at the Zen Buddhist Temple in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I began to practice while a graduate student at the University of Michigan.

As the Associate Chaplain for Buddhist Programs, Director of the »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË Meditation Initiative, and Interfaith Coordinator at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË, I get the rare and awesome opportunity to be a Buddhist presence on campus, lead Dharma and meditation programs, lead meditation retreats, and take students on Buddhist pilgrimages to local temples and international ones too, like our recent Buddhist Pilgrimage to South Korea!

It is an honor to be here and share in this life together with the amazing students at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË college and my wonderful colleagues in the Chaplains’ Office.

Originally, I am from Southern California, but I have also lived in Michigan and Colorado, and as a result I love spending time in the mountains and outdoors. (Ask to go for a walk if you are interested!) I also love music of all genres, finding new places to eat, and reading graphic novels. Lately, I am rekindling my love of bowling too.

Most importantly, I love spending time on »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË campus, running into students, and catching up about all this life has to offer!
